Since 1998, the electronic materials and devices laboratory (EMDL) has conducted research and development of high temperature superconductors (HTS), magnetic materials, dielectric materials, transparent conducting and semiconducting oxides, and dental glass-ceramics. Particularly, the research on HTS include development of HTS coated conductors (CCs) as a high performance next generation wire rod for low loss power transmission, and phase stability of REBa₂Cu₃O_7-δ in low oxygen pressures. Research on magnetic material include development of high performance hexaferrites for permanent magnet and microwave application and nano-coating of insulator on metal powder for low eddy current loss.
